Hi, I’m your Los Angeles based diet coach, Erica!
Now I wasn’t always “Captain Nutrition” as my husband jokingly calls me. In fact, my diet in my earlier years was filled with Tastykakes (if you’re from Philly, you know what I’m talking about), pepperoni pizza and anything else that could be called “comfort food”. Food was my entertainer, my relaxation and my friend. And if someone had told me I’d eventually be a diet coach…
At that time in my life, I could never have imagine that I’d be contributing to The HuffPost and Curejoy as a health and diet expert. I would never imagined that I would have a muti-award winning diet blog. I would have never fathomed I’d have people writing me from all over the world for help with their diet issues.

But I digress. Let’s get back to my childhood!
It took a while, but all this comfort food eventually led to some extra pounds. To top it off, I was completely awkward with anything athletic. You remember that kid that everyone tried to avoid when picking sports teams. Yup, you guessed it. That was me.
I felt like a total failure despite my many other achievements. And this led my to some not-so-healthy diet options. I tried starvation, points based diets, low-carb, low-fat, diet shakes, diet bars, eating nothing but cereal (hey, it had whole grains), laxatives and anything else that sounded potentially slimming.
My turning point into a diet coach
I saw my mother live an unhealthy lifestyle for years. But then she got sick. Seeing her sick was horrible and I wanted to do whatever I could to help her live a healthier lifestyle. And I started looking for answers to help her.
And this was my own wake-up call that it was time to make my own health a priority. So I embarked on a Master’s degree in holistic nutrition. And I was finally able to look at myself and my own relationship with food and my body.
Here are the valuable lessons I now share in my successful coaching business:
1) Cravings are both emotional and physical. To heal them, you must heal them from both angles. How does this work? It varies by the person. But cravings aren’t all in your head. There are real physical reasons why you’re craving. And by discovering the root of your cravings, you can start to reduce them and make them less powerful. And then you can more reasonably appease them in moderation. This doesn’t happen overnight, but change is possible. And this can free you from food obsession that can otherwise seem crippling and inescapable
2) There isn’t one weight loss formula that will work for everyone. We gain weight for different reasons and it isn’t all about calories. To be successful, we need to find your unique, specific needs and work towards a solution that is tailored specifically for you. This is why it is so valuable to work with a good coach. A coach can help you identify what you need so you can be successful, look great and feel fabulous.
3) The only diet that you will stick to long term is one that they enjoy. The key to successful weight loss is discovering the ways in which you enjoy healthy foods. The concept of long-term deprivation is, excuse my language, bullshit. You can’t deprive yourself forever! It won’t work. Trust me, I’ve tried! You need to find ways to eat that will also make your brain happy. And this is possible
4) To be happy you have to abandon the idea of perfection. I’m probably never going to have bulging muscles and I still am a total klutz. But I’m active, in shape and I’m healthy and that is what matters. Self-love goes so far. It can literally heal. So if you are trying to get healthy while telling yourself you suck on a daily basis, we need to change that right now. That’s why I’m here to help.

Helping You Is My Passion
I get excited watching people get healthy and start to create the life that they always dreamed about. I love seeing that “aha moment” when they start to understand how they can still be a foodie while making better choices. And my favorite is when someone tells me that they feel as spectacular as they always felt they should be.
I work one-on-one with clients out of Los Angeles and with clients all over the world via private coaching. I’m also the creator of The Seeds of Transformation 21-Day Jump Start Plan.
Nothing would make me happier than for you to be my next success story!
